What Is AltPorn?
When you hear the word ‘Alternative,’ you might think of independent studios — much like Japan’s own M’s Video Group, founded by director Kazuhiko Matsumoto, Milky Cat, led by the legendary Shiruo, or House Guild, directed by Rasher Miyoshi. All three started as indie studios, though their paths diverged: M’s Video Group grew into a major player, Milky Cat remains recognized as an indie studio to this day, and House Guild no longer exists. AltPorn’s “Alternative” is not about production scale or distribution. It refers to a community of creators and fans united by subculture aesthetics — goth, punk, tattoos, cosplay — where lifestyle and identity take center stage.

About the AltStar Awards
The AltStar Awards are AltPorn.net’s annual celebration of the best in alternative adult content. Unlike mainstream industry awards such as the *AVN Awards or *XBIZ Awards, the AltStar Awards feature categories tailored entirely to the alternative community — cam models (live-streaming performers), clip artists (independent short-video creators), cosplayers, sex toy makers, and more.
The 2026 ceremony was presented by fantasy sex toy brand *Bad Dragon and held at Bizarre Bar Las Vegas. Platinum sponsors included Zinetastic and Blue Blood, with Gold sponsors Wandering Bard, Nothosaur, and Dark Asteroid Pretty. Jeffrey Damnit served as Master of Ceremonies, with Malice McMunn as Trophy Goddess.
