Career

Pre-Debut

Raised in Edinburgh, Indiana, she was a cheerleader at Columbus North High School, graduating in 2009. Her first job was dancing in a gorilla costume outside a Sprint store. At 18, she married her boyfriend, but after being approached about nude modeling, she left him and relocated to Miami to pursue a career in modeling.

She worked car shows before transitioning to tattoo modeling, appearing in publications including Rebel Ink and Inked Girls. At 19, she moved into fetish modeling, which led directly to her entry into adult film.

Career as an Actress

She debuted in 2012 at the age of 21. Her first credited role was as DC Comics character Zatanna in the Brazzers parody “The Dark Knight XXX: A Porn Parody.” She went on to work with Evil Angel, Brazzers, Digital Playground, Elegant Angel, Wicked Pictures, and Jules Jordan Video, among others. In 2013 alone, she accumulated over 100 credited scenes — an exceptional pace that reflected both high demand and her own ambitious output. Her signature showcase film, “I Am Christy Mack,” earned multiple AVN nominations.

In 2013, she won Miss FreeOnes Best Newcomer and Overall Winner, as well as the AVN Fan Award for Most Promising New Starlet. The following year, she took home the XBIZ Award for Best New Starlet and the Venus Award for Best Actress International.

In August 2014, her former boyfriend Jonathan Koppenhaver — known in MMA circles as War Machine — broke into her home, inflicted severe injuries including broken bones and lacerations, and attempted to sexually assault her. Koppenhaver was subsequently convicted on 29 felony counts including battery and coercion, and received a life sentence with parole eligibility after 36 years. Mack publicly documented her injuries and recovery, and her account of the assault was widely covered by major media outlets worldwide. She effectively withdrew from adult film following the incident.

Post-retirement, she has continued to speak publicly as a domestic violence survivor and advocate. The 2015 XCritic Special Recognition Award and 2018 Inked Bill Snyder Achievement Award were presented in recognition of both her industry work and her post-assault advocacy.
