Nautica Thorn was born the only child of a secretary mother and a father who worked in the construction industry. Her first job was in promotions and marketing for a record company, secured at age 14. She moved to California at age 16, where she worked in a coffee shop and at boutiques along Hollywood’s Melrose Avenue before taking a job as an exotic dancer at 18. She was also a babysitter for her cousin for one year. She later recalled: “When I was a little kid, I already knew I wanted to be a stripper.”
Career as an Actress
Thorn was discovered by a talent agent in a club, and her first adult film was made for Ed Powers. She transitioned from exotic dancing to nude modeling, then to masturbation scenes, and eventually to hardcore content.
